Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a gallery viewing of a friend of mine who has an up-and-coming photography business, which just so happens to also be her passion!
The theme of the gallery was “One with Nature,” and I completely fell in love with the concept and the resulting art. She took pictures of body parts and superimposed them with pictures of natural elements.

I also got a chance to speak with her briefly, which is always a good time in and of itself!
What equipment do you use?
I use a Nikon D90 with a wide variety of lenses. It’s a mid-grade camera, which fits my hands comfortable.
Which lens is your favorite?
The wide-angle lens. It gives me the option to distort, so I can play with images, making them look realistic, or more surreal.
What do you take with you to a shoot?
All of my equipment fits in my backpack, so all I have to leave behind is my mind! It’s more fun that way!
What is your favorite piece?
From this gallery, the fire hands [bottom row, middle-right in the arrangement shown above]. Of all my work, my tattoo book [Seen here].
And finally, who inspires you?
Man Ray and Keith Carter.
