Web Series: Nikola Tesla and The End of the World

In honor of the internet’s favorite inventor from yesteryear and the recent celebration of his birth date (July 10th for those who have a life outside the web), I thought we’d spotlight this wonderfully quirky two-episode (so far) Nikola Tesla web series.

Nikola Tesla and The End of the World stillIn 2013, Professor Sophie Clark (Gillian MacGregor) finds plans for one of Tesla’s inventions and, when she builds the machine to test it out, brings Nikola Tesla (Paul O’Neill) through time to the present day. Now, it would seem that the world is in danger (possibly from the machine?) and it is up to the London-based physicist and the displaced inventor to save the day.

The first two episodes are fun and very well executed, with a charming humor that is absolutely nailed by the two leads. I really, really hope we get to see more of this material (though I’ve had a hard time tracking down good information about it – if you find something useful, please let us know!).

Nikola Tesla and the End of the World is written and directed by Ian Strang.
